Yin has her Master’s Degree in Urban Planning from University of Waterloo. Her Master’s thesis focused on student neighbourhood planning in Ontario. She was invited by the City of Waterloo, City of Barrie and TGAO to present her research outcomes.

Yin has gained planning experience mainly in private sector development firms. She joined Neuhaus Developments in 2015. Her responsibilities include: coordinating the submission of development planning applications, conducting due diligence on potential development opportunities, and researching provincial and local planning legislation and policies.
